July 27th, 2010 No comments

Any time one is away from the office, one risks the chance of having left important data back at the office. Today, with the advancement of Software IT Management remote applications, one can not only manage a customer base but also access data and files from a remote location. Still, most such management software is used in order to keep customers updated on a variety of changes to software one may have purchased from such a company. However, with this type of software, a company can rest assured that one is going to gain greater competition in the business world, flexibility, and higher levels of speed when processing data. Such software can also provide an IT management team with data related to product and delivery schedules so that one can notify a customer if a product can be delivered ahead of schedule or needs to have such delivery rescheduled. Therefore, tracking of product and delivery is an excellent feature related to such programs.

In addition, during this day and age where most individuals live both in a physical and virtual world, individuals often need assistance with a variety issues related to educational, gaming, technical and other applications. Having such software can help one better understand the virtual applications in these and many other areas where technology is heavily used today. Also, if one is having issues and can access and download information along with support files, one has a better chance of being able to both troubleshoot and solve any difficulties one may be having with educational software, gaming software or other technical issues.

To this end, while one can always download applications to a laptop or personal computer from a variety of websites, it is the company providing such downloads who most likely is going to be using IT Management software. However, there are also features on many such products which also allow one the ability to access personal files from a remote location in case one is on the road and discovers that one needs additional information or discovers a document or document requires revisions before one can deliver a final copy. Therefore, whether IT Management Software is being used in order to keep in touch with customers and provide automatic updates to security patches, software and other information or whether one needs to access files from a remote location, this is definitely the software one needs to look for if one is involved in an IT department which requires one to stay connected while both at the office and during times away.

July 2nd, 2010 No comments

If you have a slow computer and you don’t really know exactly how to make it faster here is a little bit of insight for you. See your computer is slow mainly because of the operating system. Your computers operating system tries its best to be efficient, but that usually doesn’t end up working. What happens is that your computer will start to slow down in time due to an increase in junk in many different areas of the computer.

By junk I mean useless files that simply just don’t get deleted. One of the best ways to make your computer faster is to simply remove some of this junk and then your computer will run faster again. The more junk that you have on your computer, the slower it will perform. So what’s the best way to remove this junk? Simple regular maintenance.

So where do you start? One of the best places to start is with your hard drive. Your hard drive stores all of your files and if it fails, then you loose all of your files. This is why keeping your hard drive in a healthy state is critical. To do this we are going to use a programs that comes build into Windows.

Click Start, open My Computer (if your using Vista just click on Computer), right click on the C: and select Properties. In the Properties window, select the Tools tab and then click on the Check Now button. In the Check Disk window, select “Automatically Fix File System Errors” and also select “Scan For And Attempt To Recover For Bad Sectors”. Click start and if it says that you need to perform a restart, just restart your computer and when you come back it will launch the program.

By running this program on your slow computer what you are doing is letting your computer check the hard drive for any problems or any potential problems that might occur. Then what the program does is it tries to fix these problems so that they will not develop into larger problems. These types of problems tend to occur as a result from when your computer freezes or when you do something like turn off your computer suddenly.

Using Monitoring HTTP Solutions For E-Commerce Websites

The World Wide Web is a most valuable tool for many various uses. E-commerce is a huge business, and anybody who operates an e-commerce website realizes how important it is to maintain continuous uptime. Moreover, website developers are often required to search for programming errors in web applications. Monitoring HTTP can help out both the owner and the developer of a website.

Several monitoring tools are available at no cost, and some of them are even open-source. There are many different commercials tools available, as well.

Protocol analyzers aren’t automated, and usually don’t have all that many fancy options. Also, they don’t decrypt encrypted web traffic. However, they are useful when you have to troubleshoot a site that isn’t encrypted, or when just monitoring to see if unencrypted, sensitive information leaks out. If your site is under attack, you can use these analyzers to try to see what the attackers are trying to do.

Several different no-cost protocol analyzers are available for just about any operating system. Users of either Linux or a BSD-flavor operating system will see some of these in their distro repositories.

Other solutions will keep a constant watch on your website, monitoring for uptime and any problems that may develop. If a problem develops, most of these programs can send an automatic notification via email, instant message, or page.

Your favorite search engine can help you find lots of both commercial and free monitoring tools for just about any operating system. If you use either Linux or BSD, some of these tools should already be in the distro’s package repository. If you need help with the free programs, some vendors will supply it commercially.

Virtual Memory – How To Prevent Your Computer From Running Slow

June 18th, 2010 No comments

I take it that you are interested in making your slow computer faster. I’ll let you in on a little secret: tune your virtual memory. Your computer has something called a hard drive which it uses to store files on and something called your RAM (Random Access Memory) that it uses to work with files and programs temporarily. When your computer turns off, the information that was on the hard drive will still be there when you turn it back on, but the information on your RAM will be gone. That’s why it’s a temporary working place.

The RAM is used to work with programs and files when you open them, but when you run out of RAM your computer can either tell you that you cannot open any more programs or you can use something called virtual memory. Virtual memory is basically space on your hard drive that is being used like RAM. Keep in mind that the speeds on your hard drive are slower than the speeds on your RAM and is why its only used as a “secondary” temporary working place. The place on your hard drive that is being used like RAM is called a Paging File and that is what you need to configure if you want to make your slow computer a bit faster. Try this out:

If you using Windows XP, click Start, right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Look under where it says “Drive [Volume Label]” and make sure that C: is selected (it should be highlighted blue). Now look under Page file size for selected drive and select Custom Size.

Where it says “Total page file size for all drives section” look at the amount that says Recommended. What ever number it says is recommended, type that into both boxes where it says Initial Size and Maximum Size. Click Set and then Ok. Then Click Apply on the next window and OK.

If you are using Windows Vista, click Start, click on Control Panel, on the left hand side make sure Classic View is selected and then double click on the System icon. On the left side of the window, click on the Advanced System Settings. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Uncheck the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers”. Click Set, then Ok and then on the next window click on Apply and then OK.

2 Interesting Tips To Cut Down On Your Slow Computer

June 9th, 2010 No comments

There are many different ways to make your computer faster out there, but once you have that handled there really is a limited amount of things that you can do to increase your productivity. One of these things being to simply make your applications quicker to get to. Think about it just for a second – how much time could you save if you were able to get to your applications quicker?

At first it wouldn’t seem like much but it would eventually add up as the day goes on, and it would also be a lot more convenient if you could almost instantly get to your applications quicker instead of having to look all over your desktop to find them.

Let’s start with the quick launch (the quick launch is the group of icons that are right beside your start button). If you don’t see a group of icons right beside your start menu, just right click on the taskbar and select Properties and then select Show Quick Launch. In order to do anything you are going to have to unlock the quick launch and to do that, just right click on the task bar and select Lock Taskbar. Now you should see dotted lines which will allow you to resize it. Now find the top 3 applications that you frequently use by going through your All Programs list in the start menu and right click on their icons and select Copy. Now go to your desktop, right click and select Paste. You should now see a copy of that icon on your desktop – just drag it into the quick launch area and the icon should be in bottom right hand corner next to the start menu (you can delete the shortcut that you copied to your desktop now since you will not be needing it). Now when you start up your computer or just log on you don’t have to look all over the place those 3 programs – there right in front of you.

Now let’s work with the Start menu. If you click on your start menu you will notice that there is a faint horizontal line on the left hand side. Everything that is above this line is permanent unless you manually remove them and below this line are programs that you have most recently used. What you’re going to want to do here is to add 3-5 programs that you use regularly to the permanent (the top part) of the list. Just go to the All Programs on the start menu, right click on the program icon and select “Pin To Start Menu”. This will then put it on the permanent part of the start menu so that you can quickly get to them without having to search around your messy desktop.

To take it to the next level you can spend some time cleaning up your desktop. A messy desktop can really slow down your ability to find what you are looking for. Delete all files that are unnecessary and put all important files into folders that are organized. You should really only have shortcuts to your applications and maybe a few important folders on your desktop.

How To Tune Your Windows Vista Operating System For Performance

May 31st, 2010 No comments

If you have switched over from XP to Vista you surly will have known by now that Vista is much slower. This lack of speed has to do with Vista dedicating a lot of its resources to trying to “look pretty”. Making the operating system look nice is great and all but when it comes time to actually get some work done it can be a huge problem. In this article I am going to show you two quick ways to make your Vista perform a it faster but you are going to have to be willing to sacrifice some of Vistas looks in order to get more function. Keep in mind that there really is no point in having your computer look really nice since you are the only person that is really going to be seeing it.

If you are using Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise or Ultimate, chances are that you have the Aero effect turned on. The Aero effect is designed to make your computer’s windows have more of a glass like effect to them, which no one really needs at all. It also enables Windows Flip 3D which is something that no one really needs (if you don’t know what Windows Flip 3D is, open a few windows, hold the Windows Button down and press the Tab button. You should be able to cycle through all of your currently opened windows in a fancy format). These features are really just pointless things that Windows has added to make your computer look really cool. Here’s how to get rid of the Aero effect:

What your going to want to do now is to click Start, click on the Control Panel and then on the left hand side make sure that the Control Panel Home is selected. Now click on Appearance and Personalize, click on the Personalize link, click on the Windows Color and Appearance and at the bottom of the window select “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”. A new window should appear and in this window where it has the Color Scheme drop down box just select Windows Vista Basic. Now click Apply and then OK and this should turn off the Aero effect.

The second thing that you probably don’t need that Vista has to offer is the sidebar. Now, unless you actually use the gadgets on the sidebar regularly (the clock doesn’t count, there’s one in the bottom right hand corner of your screen that is perfectly good) then I suggest that you get rid of it. It really serves no function to the average user except to make your computers desktop look cool. Here’s how to do it:Right click on the windows sidebar icon in the System Tray and select properties (the system tray is that little group of icons in the bottom right hand corner next to the clock). In the Windows Sidebar Properties dialog box uncheck the box the “Start Sidebar when Windows Starts” and select Apply and then OK. Now just right click on the Windows Sidebar Icon in the system tray again and select Exit.

By performing both of these procedure you will be able to free up your computer of some of its resources. This should speed up your computer a bit, but don’t expect any drastic improvements here – we only touched on a small part of your computer that needs to be tuned up, there is a lot more can still be done.

Learn Where You Can Uncover SEO Link Vine Easily

May 21st, 2010 No comments

Keyword research is extremely important if you want to see good results with your Internet marketing campaign. If you aren’t doing the proper kind of keyword research to start with, it won’t matter what sort of techniques or method you employ for driving traffic to your website. All online marketing efforts are motivated by this. In order to get the full benefits, you need to select a niche that you want to target. As soon as you’ve decide on your niche, the next goal will be getting started immediately on your research work. You’ll have to use a reliable keyword research tool for this purpose. One of the most commonly used tools is Google’s AdWords Keyword Research, but there are lots of other options that you should explore. This is because even though you can dig out targeted keywords with it, you’ll require more specialized research tools such as the Micro Niche Finder. The keywords that a program like this will generate are hard to come by anywhere else. One of the greatest benefits you’ll receive when you use these tools is all of the detailed information you’ll get about a specific keyword, as well as providing you with the numbers for other competing sites. You’ll have a better idea of what’s required to rank your website for the keywords you choose, and how good your changes are to be listed on the number one page for Google.

Research efforts should not prove to be so arduous, when your market segment is picked, and if you make use of the keyword research ability. For this particular scenario, we can use “weight loss” as the example to explain exactly how doing the keyword research will work for you. We’ll start out with your targeted niche being “weight loss” and assume you are planning to sell a “weight loss ebook” on your site. To obtain the most productive effects, search for appropriate keywords by inputting “weight loss” into the program that you are using for keyword research. You’ll get back a long list of keywords in the “weight loss” category. The keywords you select from this list should be buying keywords. The point is that it doesn’t serve your purpose if you decided to choose any of the general keywords. Your keywords should reflect what you are selling; in this case, your keyword should include information about a weight loss solution. The other rationale for selecting keywords that are specific to buying is to avoid visitors who are just browsing for information and have no interest in making a purchase. You aren’t in the business of providing an education free of charge; you are trying to generate a profit.

SEO Link Vine should be listed and then analyzed before making your selection. If you’re going to use a paid research tool, then you’ll be having all the required information about what kind of competition the keyword has, how many times it has been searched, etc. Proper time must be taken to review this information so that you can make the best selection from your keyword list. SEO Link Vine appearing to have potential should be copied for future use in your marketing. You also have to realize that the success of your keyword research depends on how much time and effort you put in. Don’t expect to stumble on golden nuggets without the required hard work. Once the keywords have mounted, open Google and search to discover how much competition you will face with each one.

In short, keyword research should your top most priority when trying to rank your sites. Short tail keywords simply can not generate the results; if this part of the process is ignored, your efforts will fall short of achieving the status you need to drive your business.

Plan your long tail keyword plan with care and you stand a bigger chance of landing the kinds of rankings with Google that will keep your business at the top of the search lists. In addition, value is added to your site by having qualified visitors that are searching for the product or service you offer; this increases your potential for a sale or lead to result from the visit. In short, if you really want to see your site ranking high and get targeted traffic, than you can’t ignore the power of SEO Link Vine.

The best path to really perform keyword research is to use the right tools. SEO link vine is one of my favorite keyword research tools. I would really encourage you to look it over on seolinkvine bonus site.
